Schedule: Sun 9a-4p, Mon-Tues 3p-11p, Sat 9a-11p
Part-time: 37 hours
Salary: $17.50 - 19.00 per hour - paid training provided by Venture!

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. The Direct Support Professional acts as a care giver for the individual within the group home. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance within the group home, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc. so that they may always look and feel their best. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.
DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.
