Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits in Cerritos, CA, offers a Sales Internship designed to immerse you in both in-office and client-facing sales environments. You will spend about 70% with current sales reps and 30% at the Cerritos office, engaging with grocery chains, liquor stores, bars, and restaurants.

You will network with executives across departments and work on sales-related projects presented at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Junior in college and graduating the following year in a Bachelor’s degree field.
• Reside near Cerritos or have ability to obtain housing.
• 21 years of age or older at start.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-starter with demonstrated leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with our sales teams to learn and support day-to-day activities.
• Gain exposure to multiple business areas including sales, product knowledge, operations, and trade development.
• Stay up to date with different sales divisions you collaborate with.
• Plan and execute a local volunteer project.
• Create and present your final internship project.

Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly pay rate of $22 / hour. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Sales Internship is about 70% working with our current sales reps and about 30% based out of our Cerritos office. The interns will experience sales in both on and off premise accounts (grocery chains, liquor/convenience stores, bars, restaurants, hotels, etc.). In the office, the interns will get the opportunity to network with executives and hear from management from other departments, such as Trade Development, Customer Service, and Inside Sales. The interns will also work on sales related projects throughout their whole time that will be presented at the end of the internship.

Primary Responsibilities

• This internship works closely with our different sales divisions to learn about and support the team along the way
• Intern will learn multiple sides of the business, including, but not limited to sales, product knowledge, operations, trade development, and mixology
• Intern will stay up to date with all of the different sales divisions they work with
• Intern will plan and execute a local volunteer project
• Intern will use their knowledge of the sales divisions to create and present their final project

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Junior in college and graduating the following year completing a Bachelor’s degree in the following majors: Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, etc.
• Reside in the vicinity of the internship or have ability to obtain housing
• 21 years of age or older at the start of the internship
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Teamwork approach to accomplishing goals
• Attention to detail
• Self-starter & demonstrated leadership experience
• Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to secure and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws

Physical Demands

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time may include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
• Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include driving throughout the day with segments up to 2 hours
• May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48lbs
