Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is offering an internship designed to expose a student to the wine and spirits distribution industry. The program spans Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Special Events, and Warehouse & Delivery to build broad knowledge of how marketing, sales, and distribution connect.

The Intern will collaborate with multiple teams, participate in training, and gain practical experience through structured learning goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; one year of experience.
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
• Strong written and verbal communication, motivation, and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite and related software.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical, problem-solving, presentation and communication skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Participate in training, on-site meetings, and department-wide learning opportunities.
• Assist with On-Premise Surveys.

Overview

The Intern works in one area of our business or a variety of teams including but not limited to: Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Special Events, and Warehouse & Delivery to gain knowledge and understanding of the alcohol distribution industry. The structured internship opportunity is designed to give students exposure to the wine and spirits industry and broad experience in various aspects of the relationship between marketing, sales, and distribution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with a variety of teams to become familiar in all aspects of the company
• Participate in training, on-site meetings, and department-wide learning opportunities as available
• Assist with our On-Premise Surveys
• Support the team with additional projects as assigned and defined by student's specific learning goals
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency plus one year of experience
• Maintain at a minimum a 2.0 GPA (Grade Point Average)
• Strong communication skills - written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
• Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Demands

• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48pounds
• Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
• Work may involve repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
• Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules may be required
