Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Civil and Environmental Intern to join our Andover, MA team. You will work alongside experienced engineers and scientists on water and environmental projects, focusing on drinking water infrastructure while shadowing professionals and contributing to real project work.

Ideal candidates are rising juniors or seniors in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science, with coursework in hydraulics, hydrology, wastewater treatment, GIS, and CAD.

Qualifications

• Second or third year Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science student
• Courses include hydraulics, hydrology, wastewater treatment, stormwater design, pavement design, soils, CAD & drafting, and fluid mechanics
• Experience or interest in site/civil engineering, wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, GIS and AutoCAD is desired

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a motivated Civil and Environmental Intern to join our company. If you want to jumpstart your career and expand your skills while working alongside talented experts, then this is the opportunity for you! You will be involved with project work from your first day, working side-by-side with experienced engineers and scientists to help clients address their water and environmental challenges. This position will support a variety of water projects, with a focus on drinking water infrastructure. Duties and responsibilities vary based on level of experience and project expectations. An intern will generally shadow experienced professionals and participate as a member of a team by contributing to actual projects. Interns are able to apply what they have learned “from the classroom” via experience based-learning.

This Internship Position will be based in our Andover, MA office.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a second or third year Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science student. Specific classes taken should include a mix of the following: Hydraulics, Hydrology, Wastewater Treatment, Stormwater Design, Pavement Design, Soils, Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD), and Fluid Mechanics. Experience or interest in site/civil engineering, wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, GIS, and AutoCAD is desired.

$25 - $29 an hour

Pay:

This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
