Freeport-McMoRan Inc. offers a 2027 Summer Internship in Civil Engineering at multiple Arizona sites. This paid, full-time program runs May–August for current university students or recent grads, with meaningful, hands-on tasks under supervision.

Interns will assist with data entry, updates to drawings, and small project design, while building practical experience in a mining environment. Excellent communication, teamwork, and MS Office skills are expected, with safety and learning as core

• Currently enrolled full-time at a four-year university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or recently graduated within 12 months.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data entry and changes to engineering drawings.
• Support design of small engineering projects under supervision.

• Review and develop recommendations for small to medium projects.

The tasks may range from data entry, making changes to existing engineering drawings to design of small engineering projects.* Assembles data and assists with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals.* Utilizes computer programs to solve engineering problems.* Assists in the review, investigation and development of appropriate recommendations for small and medium-sized engineering projects.* Assists with specification development or preparation, technical evaluation of equipment and material, and maintaining accurate and current project documentation.* May perform as a member of a survey or GPS mapping crew.* Perform other duties as required.## **What You Bring To Freeport*** Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Civil Engineering or closely related Engineering field; **OR*** Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Civil Engineering or closely related field.* Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).* Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.* Highly accurate and detail oriented.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.* Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.## **Preferred Qualifications****What We Offer:*** The estimated pay range for this role is currently $29.00-$36.00/hour.
