Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR company, seeks a Process Engineer Intern to join the Chassis team in Denton, Texas. You will work on time and efficiency studies, analyze material flow, and help document plant assembly processes to improve throughput and reduce labor.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering programs with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and an interest in Six Sigma methods and manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.

Responsabilités

• Time and efficiency studies to improve throughput and reduce labor.
• Incoming material defect analysis and recommendations to improve flow.
• Study and improve paint flow to support higher volumes and 2.1M Build cells.
• Study and analyze plant assembly processes.
• Documentation of plant assembly processes and support for special projects.

Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for a Process Engineer Intern to add to our Chassis team in Denton, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limited to:

• Time and efficiency studies on the layout process to improve throughout and reduce labor
• Incoming material defect analysis and recommendation to improve flow
• Build into paint flow enhancement to accommodate higher volumes and operating both 2.1MBuild cells
• Study and Analyze Plant Assembly Processes
• Development and Document Plant Assembly Processes
• Flexibility to address special projects as they arise

Required Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering related program.

Preferred Qualifications

The qualifications that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:

• Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentation skills
• Proven problem-solving skills are required
• Three years minimum manufacturing experience (exhibited process and product knowledge) is desired
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering
• Six Sigma Training is preferred
