Job summary

PIMCO Technology teams develop software to support investment decisions, risk management, and client service. As a Technology Analyst, you will work at the intersection of finance and technology, solving fast-paced problems and driving innovation during a 10-week summer program in Austin.

You'll collaborate with engineers, investment professionals, and analytics teams to build cutting‑edge tools, participate in training, and gain hands‑on experience with AI-powered technologies, while receiving

2027Summer Intern - Technology Analyst, Software Engineering

Internship positions are located at PIMCO’soffice in Austin, Texas.
About the role:

Our PIMCO Technology teams produce technology solutions to help our firm make investment decisions, manage portfolio risk, and serve our clients.

As a Technology Analyst at PIMCO, you will sit at the intersection of finance and technology, solve fast-paced problems, and drive innovation. Over 10 weeks during the summer, interns work alongside engineers, developers, investment professionals, and analytics teams to develop cutting-edge software and deliver value-add tools.

You’ll have the chance to define your career with a dynamic, growing global investment management leader while working with a smart, fun team.

You are eligible to apply if you:
  • Are a currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a similar major
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment at the Austin PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
  • Have a minimum 3.5 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, at an accredited four-year college or university
  • Are fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
You’llexcel as a Technology Analyst if you:
  • Are curious with strong problem-solving skills and the desire to take ownership and drive solutions to completion
  • Possess strong programming skills, such as Python, Java, C#, C++, SQL, RDBMS, and data warehouse skills or experience
  • Possess superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders across the firm
  • Have the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Have demonstrated curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes
The PIMCOinternshipexperience:
  • The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program
  • During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing you with the skills, knowledge, and relationships that will prepare you for success.
  • During Week 2, you will dive into PIMCO’s technology ecosystem and enhance your developer skills through PIMCO Technology University (PTU) Intern Bootcamp.
  • Your supervisor, mentor, past-intern peers, senior leaders, and team offer guidance and mentorship throughout the summer.
  • You will gain hands‑on experience with AI‑powered tools from day one, with training and resources that help build future ready skills and make an impact from the start.
  • Alongside your colleagues, you’ll have opportunities to give back to the community through PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering, developed to heighten the impact of our employees’ worldwide volunteer efforts.
  • You’ll be invited to join a variety of cross‑divisional education, networking & social events!
  • You’ll receive feedback through the formal review process at mid‑ and end‑of‑summer to keep you on the path to meeting your goals.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Hourly Rate: $ 52.88
