Job summary

Textron's internship program invites eager Software/CS/CE students to work on real aerospace projects with experienced mentors. You will engage with systems engineering, implement code in C++, C#, and MATLAB, and explore control modeling using Simulink.

The 10-week summer internship (June 1–Aug 6, 2027) requires 60 college credits, a 3.0 GPA, and enrollment in a relevant technical degree program. Bell Textron Inc. hosts the program with paid stipends and career-building opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 60 college credits completed by start date, or prior Bell internship experience.
  • Ability to complete the full 10 weeks (June 1– August 6, 2027).
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA; strong academic performance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gain familiarity with Systems Engineering processes from requirements through verification.
  • Develop software/coding experience using C++, C#, MATLAB, and other standard tools.

Day in the Life of a Software/Computer Science Engineering Intern

We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate. From tiltrotor technology to tail sitting vehicles, our engineers work across a wide portfolio of aircraft programs. As an Engineering Intern at Bell, you can expect to:

  • Gain familiarity with Systems Engineering processes, from requirements through verification.
  • Develop software / coding experience using C++, C#, Matlab and other industry standard development environments.
  • Learn control system design and modeling
What You’ll Need:
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science required
  • Minimum 60 college credit hours completed by the start of the internship (June 1, 2027) or prior Bell internship experience
  • Able to complete the entire 10 weeks of the internship: June 1– August 6, 2027
  • 3.0 minimum overall, undergraduate GPA strongly preferred
What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes, from requirements through verification.
  • Software / coding experience using C++, C#, Matlab and other industry standard development environments.
  • Control system design and modeling using Simulink, and implementation on hardware.
  • Software verification test experience in high fidelity hardware-in-the-loop (HILS) environments using integrated flight dynamic modeling of air vehicle performance
