Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York offers the Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program for junior undergraduates to gain hands-on experience in finance, economics, and data analysis through project-based work and professional development.

Interns join a cohort, receive mentorship, and work in one area for ten weeks, with opportunities to connect with senior leaders and participate in learning events within the public service and financial services world.

Program Description:

• The Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program gives undergraduate juniors the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution.

• Junior interns work in one specific business area or function for ten weeks, and have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank.
• At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers.

The Unique Skill Sets We’re Looking For:

• A demonstrated interest in finance, accounting, economics, capital markets, business, ethics and compliance, or operational management with a strong academic record and passion for data analysis.
• High interest in Finance, Banking, or Economics, with a strong academic record and a passion for public service.
• Experience in data analysis, handling large databases, and using statistical packages (e.g., R, Stata, Matlab, Julia, SAS, Gauss, TSP, RATS, EViews, PROCSQL), or other computer programming experience (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Acrobat.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Salary & Benefits:

• This is a paid internship. Please note, summer housing is not provided.
• Salary Range: Your regular wages for the 10 weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of $72,100.
• Expected graduation between Winter 2027 Spring 2028.
