Federal Reserve Bank of New York is offering a People & Engagement Intern position for current undergraduate juniors interested in Human Resources and public service. The role emphasizes project-based work, on-the-job training, and mentorship, with opportunities to learn across several HR functions.
Interns work in one area of People & Engagement for ten weeks, gaining real-world experience, collaboration with mission-driven colleagues, and exposure to senior leaders.

Interns work in one specific business area or function for ten weeks and have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank. At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers.
The People & Engagement (P&E) team collaborates with senior leadership and business groups to foster and uphold the Bank’s culture of excellence. We inspire and motivate all colleagues, who come from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Additionally, we help everyone pursue continuous growth and meaningful work within the Bank.
The People & Engagement (P&E) program offers summer interns a unique opportunity to participate in specialized projects and receive on-the-job training and experience across one or more P&E functions, including Learning and Development, HR Operations/HR Technology, Employee Relations, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Compensation/Benefits, Internal Communications, and People Experience.
Contribute to innovative initiatives by performing in-depth research and meticulously organizing information, driving forward our organization’s strategic goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Assist People & Engagement with the implementation of people programs, procedures, plans and guidelines.
Your regular wages for the 10 weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of either $72,100 (Junior). We believe in transparency at the New York Fed. This salary range reflects a variety of skills and experiences candidates may bring to the job. We pay individuals along this range based on their unique backgrounds. Whether you’re stretching into the job or are a more seasoned candidate, we aim to pay competitively for your contributions.
Please note, summer housing is not provided.
