Job summary

Spectrum offers a 11-week paid internship designed to give you real-world experience in the telecommunications field. You’ll work 80% on department projects and 20% on internship experiences, with a kickoff conference, professional development sessions, and networking opportunities.

As the CPS Operations Intern, you’ll support the Communications, Operations, and Training team, gain exposure to operational strategy, data insights, and organizational effectiveness, and contribute to cross‑regional

Qualifications

  • Must be a rising junior or rising senior with an expected graduation date between May 2028 and May 2029.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program.
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to CPS leadership in managing COT functions across regional and enterprise‑level initiatives.
  • Maintain project trackers and consolidate team updates.
  • Develop and recommend tools, templates, and process improvements to streamline CPS operations.
  • Ensure consistency and clarity in internal communications, helping to align messaging and timelines.
  • Assist in drafting PPT decks, excel reports, & SharePoint content to strengthen communication within CPS leadership and across business unit partners.
  • Perform light data analysis to evaluate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose actionable recommendations.
  • Build knowledge of physical security risks, both internal and external, and provide perspectives by analyzing trends, gaps, and emerging threats.

What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team‑focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross‑functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

The CPS Operations Intern will play a key role in supporting the Communications, Operations, and Training (COT) team, providing initiative support, data insights, and creative input that align with CPS short‑and long‑term priorities. This role is designed for a motivated individual who is eager to gain experience in operational strategy, project execution, and organizational effectiveness, as well as exposure to the field of physical security. The intern will contribute to projects that include incident response support, cross‑regional collaboration, and enterprise‑wide communication.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with capability to exercise these skills across platforms (Outlook, Webex, In‑Person)
  • Critical thinker who can balance strategic insights with operational execution
  • Self‑starter with willingness to learn, adapt, and evolve with role
