- Must be able to relocate to Nashville for duration of the internship and commute daily.
Responsibilities
- Performs all programming, development, integration, and system administration assignments.
- Provides project management, programming, systems and/or system administration guidance to team members.
- Works on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including on-call support.
- Works independently on complex processes used by multiple programs or infrastructure changes.
- Develops major system modules or infrastructure releases from gathered requirements.
- Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components.
- Fully knowledgeable of current programming languages and system analysis techniques.
- Performs integration tasks for in-house systems and third-party solutions.
- Assists customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.

As an Information Technology Intern at Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (Cat Financial), you will be assigned to a specific department and given at least one project to work on for the duration of the internship. You will be expected to use your analytical skills and work independently. At the end of the summer, you will prepare and deliver a presentation to management on the details of your project. You'll gain professional and personal growth through the program, and you will also have opportunities to interact with senior leaders and other interns through group activities such as social events and leader presentations.
- Performs all programming, development, integration, and system administration assignments.
- Provides project management, programming, systems and/or system administration leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
- Works on more complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
- Works independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs, systems or in support if infrastructure component change management.
- Develops major system modules, programs or infrastructure releases based on requirements gathered from system customers.
- Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
- Fully knowledgeable of current programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage, and internal systems.
- Performs integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased hardware and software solutions.
- Assists customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.

- Must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year university/college in one of the following degree programs: Information Technology majors (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, AI) or other relevant degrees at the time of application and throughout the program.
- Minimum 3.0/4.0 Cumulative GPA
- Must be able to relocate to indicated work location for the duration of the internship and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation.
- Have 90 completed semester hours before the start of the internship.
- This is a 40-hour per week assignment, Monday through Friday, lasting 9 weeks in the summer.
- This position requires working onsite five days a week.

$23.00 - $40.25
An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
