Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team in multiple locations (Northbrook, IL; Auburn Hills, MI; Raleigh, NC; Melville, NY). The role is hybrid—3 days on-site—with a 10–12 week project designed to build skills in safety science across several operating units.

Rising seniors pursuing undergrad degrees in listed engineering disciplines, along with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, are encouraged to apply. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Fire Safety or related major.
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Must have indefinite right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work within one of the operating units listed and gain exposure to safety science labs and testing.
• Assist on an internship project over a 10–12 week period with mentorship and hands-on experience.
• Contribute to research, testing and development activities across UL Solutions.
• Learn safety methodologies and support multi-disciplinary teams to solve real-world problems.

What we offer:

Total Rewards: The hourly rate for this role is $27.00. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus to assist with housing, travel, and other relocation expenses, subject to terms and conditions. Your internship will consist of a 10-12 week long project, networking, learning & development opportunities, and will provide you with the opportunity to make a real world impact.
