Overview: The Summer Executive Associate (SEA) Program is designed for 1st year MBAs 10 weeks of impactful project-based assignments, with significant access to senior management and the bank’s previous Executive Associates (EA).

As a Summer Executive Associate you will work on some of the Bank's most important priorities while partnering with leaders who help shape the future of the business.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence projects with enterprise‑wide visibility while developing a deep understanding of commercial banking and the broader financial services industry.
The work is expected to span a mix of business strategy, product development, business transformation, operating model design, and performance management.
Your duties and responsibilities may also include:
Primary Responsibilities: Participate in planning and implementing new products, programs and initiatives to achieve short and long‑term business objectives and strategic outcomes. Support development of project roadmaps and plans. Provide analytical support for critical Bank‑wide or divisional projects including planning, design and analysis of results, develop comprehensive documentation to align with regulatory expectations as needed. Analyze complex data sets, or analysis/optimization of data structures. Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems and issues. Develop and produce complex ad‑hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports, including workflow, project and strategic analysis and trend reporting. Synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information for analysis and decision‑making. Coordinate discussions and agenda development of regular conference calls and in‑person meetings of with external peers or industry groups, agencies and select US officials to share best practices and promote industry advocacy efforts. Understand and adopt the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk‑related issues needing escalation to management.
Scope of Responsibilities: Perform project/management related assignments in field of expertise within the Summer Executive Associate Program. Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities: Not applicable.
Education and Experience Required: Current enrollment in an MBA Program from an accredited business school. Minimum three years professional, full‑time work experience. Demonstrated leadership potential, as evidenced through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges. Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Work visa sponsorship not offered for this role. M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market‑informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,000 – $171,000. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations. The pay rate specific to your location will fall within this range and is available from your recruiter.
