Job summary

Sanofi Group in Cambridge, MA is seeking a highly motivated Summer Co-op to join our IVB Cell Biology team for a 6-month program. You will work 40 hours/week and relocate if needed, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge CRISPR and Cell Painting techniques.

You will be mentored by leaders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to projects that inform therapeutic strategies while learning in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related Life Sciences field.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship now or in future.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university for duration of co-op.
• Must relocate to the office and work 40 hours/week during the 6-month co-op.

Responsibilities

• Merge CRISPR and Cell Painting techniques to investigate inflammatory pathway mechanisms.
• Apply Cell Painting across five fluorescent channels to capture morphological fingerprints.
• Combine with CRISPR-based gene perturbations to build an unbiased phenotypic screening platform.
• Visualize morphological changes in immune cells from loss-of-function mutants without a predefined readout.

Main Responsibilities

• Merge CRISPR and Cell Painting techniques to investigate inflammatory pathway mechanisms
• Apply Cell Painting, a high-content multiplexed imaging assay capturing morphological cell "fingerprints" across five fluorescent channels (nucleus, ER, mitochondria, actin/Golgi, nucleoli)
• Combine with CRISPR-based gene perturbations to build an unbiased phenotypic screening platform
• Visualize morphological changes in immune cells resulting from genetic loss-of-function mutants, without pre-specifying a readout

About you

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Life Sciences field
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the Internal requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
• Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is$29-35 USD hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
