Job summary

Alcon in Johns Creek, GA is seeking a motivated co-op for Spring and Summer 2027 to work onsite on Injection Molding engineering projects and to support the DSMFLEX area upgrades. You will gain hands-on experience and network with professionals, while contributing to meaningful product initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university for at least one semester prior to co‑op and at least one semester after.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related major.
• Academic performance: GPA 2.8/4.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated leadership through activities or projects.
• Authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis (F1 visa with CPT may be accommodated).
• Able to commit to a semester-long, full-time (40 hours/week) fall co‑op.

Responsibilities

• Involved in Injection Molding optimization and improvements in a high-speed manufacturing facility.
• Learn injection molding operations and change controls related to assigned initiatives.
• Contribute to program updates for senior-level stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous improvements to communications metrics for higher business impact.
• Monitor impact through feedback channels to demonstrate results.

Position Description

The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated co‑op to join us onsite for Spring and Summer 2027 at the Johns Creek, GA location. Alcon co‑ops will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. They will also have the chance to make a real‑world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon also offers co‑ops personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities. The Injection Molding Engineering co‑op will be assigned projects that would consist of process upgrades and OEE improvements for the DSMFLEX platform. Projects may be safety, quality, or performance driven improvements. There is opportunity to assist with installation and qualification of new or retrofit equipment in the DSMFLEX area.

Key Responsibilities

• Involved in Injection Molding optimization and improvements in a high‑speed manufacturing facility.


• Responsible for learning injection molding operations and the change controls related to his/her assigned initiatives.

• Actively participates in continuous improvements to communications metrics to achieve higher levels of business impact.

Minimum Qualifications for Co‑Ops

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to co‑op, and at least one additional semester following your co‑op.


• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related major.


• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0


• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)


• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.


• Ability to commit to a semester‑long, full time (40 hours per week) fall co‑op.

Preferred Qualifications

• We are interested in students from the following majors: Plastics Engineering, B.S. Plastics Engineering Technology, B.S. Polymer Engineering, B.S. Materials Science and Engineering – Polymers.
