Electric Boat engineers collaborate across disciplines and directly with our customer to develop advanced technical solutions. As an Engineering Co-op Trainee, students are immersed in real-world engineering activities with direct mentorship from senior staff. Trainees gain hands‑on exposure to complex systems and cutting‑edge projects, including work supporting the Columbia Class submarine design and enhancements to the Virginia Class fleet.
This program is designed to provide a deep, applied learning experience equivalent to an academic term, enabling students to build critical technical and professional skills in a highly collaborative engineering environment.
Applicants must be eligible and approved by their academic institution to participate in a full‑time, for‑credit co‑op during the Spring 2027 term.

Applicants should have completed a minimum of one year of college working toward a Bachelor or Master’s of Science degree in: Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Marine/Ocean Engineering, Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Naval Architecture/Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science.
