Job summary

Applied Materials’ Display Controls Department is seeking a Co-op for Spring 2027 at our Gloucester, MA site. You will assist in hardware design and PCB improvements, document processes, and support senior engineers with testing and data collection.

The role targets students in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies. On-site relocation is eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale minimum.
• Previous experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges.

• Assist in soldering and unsoldering components on PCBs
• Learn schematic capture and fundamentals of PCB design
• Analyze problems along with more Senior Engineers
• Organize and maintain our Electronics lab

Applied Materials’ Display Controls Department is searching for a Co-op to join our team in Spring 2027! The department is responsible for hardware design and improvements for PCBs. The position will entail the following:

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Previous experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Compensation

$31 - $41 per hour

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
