Sanofi in Waltham, MA invites a highly motivated Spring Co-op to join the Virology Platform, Global Antigen Design team. You will contribute to vaccine candidate characterization and learn various virological and molecular techniques.

You will work under supervision, maintain notebooks, and participate in lab tasks with mentoring as part of a 6-month internship; relocation to the office is expected, with a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Master's or PhD in life sciences with plans to graduate by Spring 2029.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship at time of application or in the future.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.

We are seeking a highly motivated Spring Co-op to join our Virology Platform, Global Antigen Design team.

The Virology Group within the Global Antigen Design (GAD) Department contributes to the development of vaccine candidates from early prototype optimization to IND-enabling activities. As a Co-op in our Virology platform, you will contribute toward the development of innovative next generation vaccines targeting respiratory pathogens, (which may include seasonal influenza, pandemic influenza, RSV, hMPV and/or COVID). Your primary focus will be on vaccine candidate characterization, and you will work closely with our team of experts to advance Sanofi's mission to protect and improve human health worldwide. The candidate will learn and apply various virological, immunological and molecular techniques including cell culture, virus propagation, infectious titer assays, virus neutralization assays, RT-PCR, and sequencing of viral genomes.

Main Responsibilities

About You
  • Basic Qualifications: Currently pursuing Master's or PhD degree in life sciences with plans to graduate by Spring 2029 (Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology).
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the Internal requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preferably some R&D experience from lab courses or other experiences in molecular cloning, molecular cell culture, mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, aseptic techniques, biosafety cabinet operations, lab documentation, molecular biology/biochemistry foundation, or lab automated systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Good interpersonal skills, communication, and ability to work independently and on a team, under supervision.
  • Able to perform experiments from verbal or written instructions, while learning and applying new concepts and research procedures.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $35.00 -$60.00 hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
