Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Software Engineering Grad Intern for the Software Tools and Assurance Department in the Information Systems and Cyber Division. The position is onsite at our El Segundo, CA office and involves hands‑on design, development, testing, and collaboration on software‑intensive projects for defense and civil customers.

You will work with Java, C/C++, and Python in an interdisciplinary team, gain mentorship, and potentially obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full‑time at an accredited college/university pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related program.
  • Availability to work full‑time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full‑ time after completion of the internship
  • Hands‑on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing and programming using common languages including Java, C/C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with Full‑stack web development, Model‑based software engineering, Agile software development
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
  • Transcripts required
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Understanding of Distributed systems, cloud native application patterns and tools, micro services architectures, application migrations to any cloud platform

  • Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
  • Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.

Job Overview

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Software Engineering Grad Intern for the Software Tools and Assurance Department (STAD) in the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA.

Job Summary

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Compensation

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Max) $32.00 - $35.00 Pay Basis: Hourly
