Job summary

Textron is seeking a 2027 Software Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience while exploring interests and building new skills. You will work on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success at a Fortune 500 company in Augusta, GA.

The role supports senior engineers, participates in agile processes, and offers mentorship, training, and hands-on opportunities with a prepaid 10-week summer internship. On-site location in Georgia is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Fundamental knowledge of Java, C#, C/C++, SQL, HTML and JavaScript is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior software engineers to design, implement, test, and document software solutions from product requirements.
• Assist ENG department on daily tasks and special projects to build experience in the function.
• Adhere to defined project timelines and participate in daily scrums and sprint retrospectives.
• Collect statistics and prepare reports on project status for management review.
• Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines; explore new technologies to meet business needs.

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands‑on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success.

Responsibilities:

• Work with senior software engineers to develop, design, configure, test, and document software solutions based on product manager requirements.

• Assist members of the ENG department in both daily activities and special projects to learn and gain experiences related to the function and its role in achieving business objectives.

• Work within defined project timelines to complete tasks according to project schedule.

• Follow agile processes in compliance with TSV’s Agile methodology and participate in daily scrum meetings, and sprint retrospectives.

• Gather statistics and prepare reports on the status of projects for discussion with management and team members.

• Determine, develop, and maintain user manuals and guidelines.

• Gain exposure to the business needs by developing and implementing processes and new technologies
