Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in Minneapolis invites candidates to join the Polymer R&D Accelerated Development Program. This high-potential program develops skills and experiences to prepare for R&D roles within our Global Supply Chain, exposing you to different parts of GSC R&D to build a solid foundation for an R&D Career Track.

You will relocate if required, have access to lab and office environments, and contribute to projects from day one starting June 2027 at our Minneapolis location.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher by the start of the program.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Must be able to relocate now or in the future.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree in chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Engage with employees and operate heavy machinery as part of program activities.
• Support testing, data analysis and reporting of results.
• Collaborate with global supply chain and cross‑functional teams.

Job description

The Polymer R&D ADP is a high potential program designed to develop key skills and experience that will lead to R&D positions within our Global Supply Chain. In our Global Supply Chain (GSC) group, you will be exposed to different parts of GSC R&D to ensure you receive key experiences and activities to prepare for a position within our R&D Career Track. This employee will work out of our Minneapolis, Minnesota location starting June 2027.

Experiences and learnings of the R&D Accelerated Development Program include:

• Build knowledge of polymer synthesis and their use in paints and coatings
• Execute testing methods and quality control using statistics software
• Learn and build understanding of commercialization, product, industry and segment knowledge
• Build expertise in project management and report out on results and findings
• Create and foster relationships with global supply chain and gain knowledge of plant operations
• Build cross-functional partnerships with and understand the interaction of Marketing, Operations, & Technical Services to execute innovation strategy.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Be willing to relocate, as required, upon completion of the Accelerated Development Program
• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher by the start of this development program
• Must have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• Must be able to relocate now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in chemistry
• Have previous experience working in a lab environment
• Have previous internship or co-op experience with Sherwin-Williams
• Must have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
