Job summary

Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD offers a 2027 PGA Golf Management Internship Program for aspiring golf professionals. The internship provides hands-on experience across instruction, tournaments, merchandising, member communications, and day-to-day golf operations.

Two options are available: a 3-month and a 7-month internship for the 2027 season, with housing provided and opportunities to contribute to events such as the 2027 KPMG Women's Championship while learning from our PGA

Qualifications

• Enrolled in PGA Golf Management Program (preferred).
• Passion for golf and the golf industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Desire to learn, take initiative, and grow as a golf professional.
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays for a seasonal operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation of the Golf Department in a professional and efficient manner.
• Work with the Director of Golf and PGA staff to support departmental goals.
• Provide exceptional service, advice and assistance to members and guests.
• Assist with tournaments, outings, events and championship preparation.
• Gain hands-on experience with golf instruction, lessons and clinics.
• Support merchandising, retail sales, purchasing, inventory and displays.
• Assist with club fitting and club repair.
• Support outside service operations and team members.
• Assist with practice facility operations.
• Monitor tee times, pace of play and golfing activity.
• Assist with the Club's handicap program.
• Ensure accurate member billing and daily transactions.
• Support golf car fleet and related operations.
• Partner with Golf Course & Grounds to deliver an exceptional playing experience.
• Build relationships by learning and using member/guest names.
• Pitch in wherever needed — no job is too small.

If you answered yes, Congressional Country Club is seeking Golf Apprentices for our 2027 PGA Golf Management Internship Program.

Both 3-month and 7-month internship opportunities are available for the 2027 season.

This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience across the entire golf operation. Golf Apprentices will work alongside our professional team and gain exposure to tournament operations, instruction, merchandising, member communications, outside services, club fitting and repair, pace of play, and day-to-day golf operations.

2027 will be an exciting season at Congressional, including hosting the 2027 KPMG Women's Championship in June. Our Golf Apprentices will have the opportunity to be part of a team preparing for and supporting a major championship while continuing to deliver an exceptional daily golf experience for our members and guests.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with Golf Course & Grounds to help deliver an exceptional playing experience

• Build meaningful relationships by learning and using member and guest names

• Pitch in wherever needed-because at Congressional, no job is too small
