Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles in Augusta, GA is hiring for an entry-level manufacturing position. You will work on the shop floor supporting layout planning, process improvements, and production readiness.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 0–2 years of experience, with skills in CAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office. This full-time role operates on First Shift and offers growth opportunities within Textron.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement shop layouts to improve material flow and increase plant capacity.
• Develop and implement efficient and safe work methods and lean material flows.
• Provide training and standard work related to products to manufacturing personnel.
• Establish time standards and integrate into costing system approvals.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and explore new methods.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with stakeholders.
• Process and implement Engineering Change Notices to ensure producibility.

• Plan and implement shop layouts to improve material flow and increase plant capacity and coordinate placement of new equipment to optimize existing shop capacities and new production processes.
• Develop and implement efficient and safe work methods, lean material process flows, and ensure equipment and tooling for products is efficient and cost effective.
• Provide training, written instructions, and standard work related to products to manufacturing personnel for critical processes to develop and maintain process capability.
• Establish time standards by use of approved Industrial engineering practices for accurate measurement of work performed and facilitate the appropriate approvals to implement into costing system.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and investigate new methods of enhancing the product.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with appropriate stakeholders.
• Process and implement Engineering Change Notices for products to ensure the design is producible as drawn, methods are defined via routing, and that all time standards, process plans, work plans, and tool orders are defined appropriately.
