Textron Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a highly motivated student for a 10-week, paid internship in the Legal function. You will work on real projects alongside senior attorneys and business personnel, gaining hands-on experience and coaching to prepare for future success.

The program emphasizes mentorship, training, and development, with opportunities for alternative schedules at select locations and potential future roles within Textron's business units.

Description

Job Summary:

Textron seeks a highly motivated, responsible, and mature student, considering a career in public service, government relations, public policy, defense and/or international trade and compliance. You will be expected to assist with and participate in the daily activities and special projects, as well as benefit from coaching and mentoring by seasoned in-house personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Draft memorandum and special project reports or presentations
• Attend and participate in meetings and presentations.
• Provide government policy tracking support to Washington Operations personnel.
• Monitor pertinent legislative, executive branch and international developments, and prepare required reports.
• Assist in research and analytical data tracking/projects regarding defense/military procurement and sustainment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a BA/BS degree in public policy, legislative affairs, foreign or international affairs preferred.
• Strong GPA and academic record
• Interest in defense/military, international and public affairs preferred. Prior working experience in a professional environment a plus.

This is a 10-week, paid summer internship with full-time hours. The position will be located in Washington, DC where you will collaborate directly with senior attorneys and business personnel of a publicly traded company and assist with and participate in daily activities and special projects. You will gain valuable hands-on experience and will benefit from coaching and mentoring by seasoned in-house personnel.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

23.00 - 26.00 per hour.
