Global Banking and Markets (GBM) provides a full range of credit, risk management and investment banking products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, debt products, derivatives, foreign currencies, and commodities. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by Scotiabank.

Within Investment Banking division, interns can pursue roles across sector groups including Energy, Technology, Corporate Finance Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Real Estate, Power and Utilities, Infrastructure, M&A, and more! Interns provide support to the Investment Banking teams globally and develop the skillset to pursue careers in Investment Banking.

What will my responsibilities look like?

• Generally supporting client pitches
• Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models, marketing materials and presentations
• Financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of valuation models, pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc.
• Sourcing the data required to perform financial analysis
• Drafting prospectuses and marketing presentations for transactions
• Preparing client presentations

Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if:

• You are working towards a Bachelor's or master's degree between December 2027 and August 2028 within Business, Accounting, Science Technology, Engineering, Economics, or Math disciplines
• You have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office especially within MS Excel
• You have excellent leadership capabilities and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• You have a record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
• You pride yourself on having strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• You possess time management skills to manage multi-functional accountabilities through prioritization, delegation, motivation, conflict resolution and the promotion of ideas
• You are a quick learner and understand the risks associated with new products, processes and routine
