Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita, KS seeks an undergraduate intern to support quality improvements and provide guidance in regulatory matters across Fabrication, Assembly Aircraft Completions, and Delivery, as well as Supply Chain, Engineering and Customer Service.

You will develop and revise quality systems and procedures, conduct Government and FAA audits, gather performance data, and support process improvement projects while gaining hands-on experience during a 10-week, 40-hour-per-week

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise Quality systems and procedures as directed by management to ensure documentation is compliant to current practices.
• Conduct Government and FAA requested audits and investigations and report on corrective action steps taken to prevent recurrences when necessary.
• Gather and analyze performance data (scrap, rejections, defects, rework) to aid in the development of process improvement projects. As needed, coordinate across other production and functional areas to ensure maximum quality and efficiencies are achieved.
• Conduct process or product based audits in production or functional areas or within the supply base (external suppliers).

JOB SUMMARY:

Support of quality improvements in products and processes and provide guidance in matters relating to regulatory and oversight environments Support various production areas across Fabrication, Assembly Aircraft Completions and Delivery, as well as functional areas such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F‑1 students and J‑1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late‑May to early‑August lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
