Job summary

Kautex in Lavonia, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to work with engineering and maintenance on process improvements for automotive fuel systems. You will analyze cycle times, patterning, tooling, and layout, and gain exposure to blow molding and assembly processes.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Engineering or Applied Science with automation/robotics focus and have interests in data analysis, electronics, software engineering, robotics/automation, and mechatronics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing university degree in Engineering or Applied Science with automation/robotics focus.
• Preference for skills in data analysis, electronics, software engineering, robotics/automation, and mechatronics.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and maintenance functions.
• Conduct cycle time studies to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements to reduce scrap and downtime.
• Create standardized work instructions as needed.
• Analyze scrap and downtime on a production line using Pareto and trend data to identify root causes of scrap drivers.
• Work to analyze operational equipment efficiencies and improve OEE and scrap via root-cause analyses.
• Participate in operational meetings.
• Assist the NPI group to ensure flawless project launches.
• Perform work as assigned by supervisor.

• Analyze Scrap and Downtime on a production line, using analytical tools to Pareto and trend scrap drivers, root cause highest scrap drivers
• Work to analyze operational equipment efficiencies and make improvements based on A3/root cause analysis of top items affecting OEE and Scrap
• Participate in the operational meetings
• Assist the NPI group as needed to ensure the flawless launch of the projects
• Perform work as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed:

• Currently pursuing a university degree in Engineering or Applied Science with a focus on automation or robotics
• Preference for candidates with skills in the following areas: Data Analysis, Electronics, Software Engineering, Robotics/Automation, Mechatronics
