Job summary

Cirrus Logic is seeking an intern for the embedded software test team in Austin, TX. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, help solve real-world challenges, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Internships are available year-round for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027; durations range from 12 to 16 weeks with a full-time schedule. You will contribute to test plans, framework development, and defect resolution with the team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

As an intern on the embedded software test team, you will work on products that are delivered to world-class customers and ensure that they have been thoroughly tested and deliveries are rock-solid!

As an intern, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to solve real-world challenges, contribute to product development, and gain hands‑on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

We recruit interns year-round for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027 opportunities. Each internship lasts 12–16 weeks and follows a full‑time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute on test plans during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the product
• Contribute to the design, creation, and enhancement of the test framework, including developing modules to enable more effective validation techniques
• Find issues and triage/debug them with team members in the software organization
• Identify, report, and handle defects in a defect tracking system
• Present results to product owners, internal customers to assist in resolving defects
• Analyze test result data to identify patterns, extract insights, and support meaningful conclusions that improve product quality

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Knowledge of embedded systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as (Python/shell, C, C++, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Understanding of MCU and DSP cores/processors
• Understanding of software testing and test automation principles
• Familiar with defect management practices
• Familiar with SDLC
• Familiar with Jira, svn/git, and Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins)

Cirrus Logic follows a 2+ day in-office work schedule but interns should expect to be in the office more often, up to 5 days per week, based on business needs and team preference. Interns must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning their internship with Cirrus Logic.
