Job summary

Under Canvas is seeking a Seasonal Housekeeping Inspector in Zion, Virgin, UT to ensure tents are clean, stocked, and guest-ready. You will work with a housekeeping team under the supervisor, maintaining high standards and providing a memorable glamping experience for guests.

This hourly, seasonal role includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment and requires the ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 45 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Proven ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and a friendly, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Report concerns that need attention to the Housekeeping Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Work effectively with a team of housekeepers under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist Housekeeping team on a day-to-day basis.
• Demonstrate stamina to work long hours in varying weather conditions.
• Interact with co-workers and guests in a genuine, professional manner.
• Demonstrate problem solving independently or with the team/supervisor.
• Lead by example and ensure tents are clean, stocked, and ready for guests.
• Minor tent touch ups as needed.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

As a Housekeeping Inspector you play an important role in creating a memorable first impression for our guests from the moment they enter their tent. Known for providing guests with a glamping experience that includes all the comforts and luxury of home, your role is to ensure our tent accommodations are clean, well-maintained, replenished with consumables, and ready for our guests to enjoy their stay. This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Report concerns that need attention to the Housekeeping Supervisor in a timely manner
• Work effectively with a team of housekeepers, under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, to ensure all tasks are successfully completed
• Assisting Housekeeping team on a day-to-day basis
• Demonstrate the stamina to work long hours in varying weather conditions
• Interact regularly with co-workers and guests in a genuine, professional manner
• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently or in collaboration with your team and/or supervisor
• Eagerly seek opportunities to ensure guests have everything they need
• Lead by example
• Take pride in following protocol by meticulously and consistently ensuring our tents are clean, well-stocked, and ready to welcome our guests
• This includes sometimes assisting Housekeeping with a few minor touch ups in a tent
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred

Additional Information

• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
• This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
• Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
• This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
