JPMorgan Natural Capital in Portland, OR is seeking a 2027 Forestry Finance Intern to support timberland investment analysis, financial modeling, and client reporting under the Forestry Finance team.

You will build and maintain financial models, analyze asset performance and market trends, and assist with client reports and meeting notes, gaining exposure to real-world investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Real Estate, Natural Resources, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models supporting timberland acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio management activities
• Analyze timberland asset performance, market trends, and investment data to evaluate investment opportunities
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess potential investment outcomes and risks
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly client reports, presentation materials, and investment analyses
• Support portfolio and strategic solutions teams with data collection, reporting, and research projects
• Participate in client meetings and discussions while documenting key takeaways and action items
• Assist with responding to client inquiries through research and analysis
• Collaborate with team members across investment management, portfolio strategy, and client service functions

As part of our Forestry Finance team, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting investment analysis, financial modeling, and client reporting while working alongside professionals who manage timberland investment strategies for institutional investors. As a 2027 Forestry Finance Intern within JPMorgan Natural Capital, you will work closely with our Portfolio Management and Strategic Solutions teams to evaluate timberland investment opportunities and support client engagement initiatives. You will gain exposure to real‑world investment decisions, financial analysis, and client-focused projects while developing skills that are transferable across investment management and financial services.

The program is designed to provide a fixed‑term, full‑time experience, and you will be expected to be available beginning in early June 2027 for a period of up to 10 weeks.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Real Estate, Natural Resources, or a related field
• Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling concepts
• Ability to interpret quantitative information and summarize findings clearly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

• Interest in investment management, natural resources, or timberland investing

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Coursework or experience in financial analysis, valuation, accounting, or investments
• Exposure to investment management, forestry, timberland, real assets, or natural resource investments
• Experience working with financial models, research projects, or data analysis
• Interest in client service and institutional investor relationships
• Proficiency with AI‑powered productivity and research tools, with the ability to apply them responsibly to support analysis, communication, and problem‑solving.
