Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation offers a Credit Internship Program designed to expose early career talent to wholesale banking and credit risk. The program features rotations across Commercial & Corporate Banking, Specialized Industries, and Wholesale Payments, with exposure to senior leaders and hybrid training formats.

Ideal candidates are pursuing business/finance degrees with a 3.0+ GPA, strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to travel and relocate for assignments.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in business-related concentrations with accounting/finance coursework; 3.0+ GPA preferred.
  • Scheduled graduation between Dec 2027 and Jun 2029.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership through on-campus involvement or work experience.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate for internship opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal business partners and external clients within the internship program.
  • Develop analytics and decision-making skills relevant to risk and finance.
  • Participate in business rotations and project work beyond formal training.
  • Collaborate with Truist teams and leaders; embody Truist values.
  • Complete additional training as recommended by management during or after the program.

The Opportunity:

The broad-based internship program incorporates education, exposure and experience in the core and track curriculum. Teammates will get exposure to Truist senior leaders and the internship may include sessions with executive leaders as well.

The Credit track internship aligns early career talent with lines of business in Wholesale Banking, providing an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of the specific line of business such as Commercial & Corporate Banking, Specialized Industries, or Wholesale Payments.

What to Expect:

You will play a meaningful role in supporting internal business partners and external clients, as well as expand your and collaborative team skills, credit and risk acumen, and industry and technical knowledge. Individuals hired into the program will relocate throughout the Truist footprint based on the assigned host team. The location will be included in the offer letter. Training sessions throughout the summer may be a hybrid approach to learning including remote and in-person learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn a wide range of concepts, risk management, enterprise programs, and services designed to prepare for an assignment in any line of business
  • Develop and enhance the following skills: Analytical and decision-making skills; Effective communication skills; Leadership skills
  • Perform special projects or assignments outside of the formalized training program, as may be assigned.
  • Embrace and model Truist Purpose, Mission and Values.
  • Complete any additional training as recommended by the manager, either during or after the program.
  • Participate in business rotations, working on projects and other business-as-usual activities that allows for the practical application of concepts and behaviors referenced in training and demonstrate results in line with rotational leads’ expectations.

Required Skills

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (business-related concentrations, along with accounting and/or finance coursework are desired). 3.0 + GPA preferred.

To comply with the Washington D.C. pay transparency statute and for work locations in Washington D.C. only, The annual hourly wage for this position is $25.00.

General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position. Truist offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, tax-preferred savings accounts, and a 401k plan to teammates. Teammates also receive no less than 10 days of vacation (prorated based on date of hire and by full-time or part-time status) during their first year of employment, along with 10 sick days (also prorated), and paid holidays.
