Job summary

Macquarie Group in New York invites students to join a 10-week internship within Commodities & Global Markets. You will learn from geologists to data scientists and traders, gaining practical experience while contributing to tailored client solutions across commodities, financial markets, and lending/asset finance.

You will rotate through areas, receive mentorship, participate in training, and showcase your project to senior leadership. Applicants should graduate between Dec 2027 and Jun 2028.

What role will you play?

As an intern with Commodities and Global Markets, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and build your career as you learn from in-house experts ranging from geologists to meteorologists, petroleum and mining engineers to data scientists, quant strategists to traders and advisers.

Commodities

provides capital and financing, risk management, market access and physical execution and logistics services across the power, gas and emissions, agriculture and oil and resources sectors globally. The team also offers commodity-based index products to institutional investors.

Financial Markets

provides clients with access to a wide range of service offerings across foreign exchange, rates, credit markets and listed derivatives markets. Our clients benefit from strong deal execution and specialist financing solutions that are underpinned by deep technical and fundamental market analysis.

Lending and Asset Finance

enters into structured opportunistic credit and complex asset backed transactions across a variety of industries and asset classes. The desk deploys Macquarie’s balance sheet into credit investments secured by physical assets, typically in the form of loans, leases, asset trades and disposals, distressed and special situations.

Estimated salary amount is the equivalent of $90,000 - $110,000 annually, prorated for the length of time of the internship. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector and geographic location.
