Job description

The Role

Joining Moderna means advancing mRNA science to transform medicine. Work with exceptional global teams on a broad pipeline and build a career that makes a real difference for patients. Moderna is strengthening its presence in Norwood, Massachusetts, a cornerstone of our manufacturing and operational excellence. Our Norwood campus translates mRNA science into scalable impact, supporting the global delivery of our medicines. We welcome talent ready to drive innovation and make a meaningful difference for patients worldwide. This is a co-op opportunity based in Norwood, MA from January 18, 2027 - June 25, 2027, and applicants must be available for the full duration of the co-op term. As an individual contributor within Development Process, Training & Execution, you will help advance innovation and digital enablement initiatives that streamline workflows, improve access to information, and strengthen adoption of digital tools across Moderna’s Development organization. Working alongside process, training, and cross-functional partners, you will gain hands‑on exposure to regulated clinical development operations, quality‑focused documentation, business process improvement, and technology‑enabled ways of working. You will also support the development, maintenance, and implementation of processes and controlled documents while helping teams identify opportunities to work more consistently, efficiently, and digitally. This role offers a particularly strong opportunity to build experience at the intersection of process excellence and technology, including practical exposure to automation, dashboards, digital workflows, and approved AI-enabled and Generative AI tools that can improve document management, knowledge sharing, and process efficiency.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Support innovation and digital enablement efforts by gathering user needs, documenting current‑state workflows, testing proposed solutions, and preparing user guidance or training materials under team supervision. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to explore practical uses of automation, dashboards, and approved AI-enabled tools for document management, knowledge sharing, and process efficiency, helping summarize findings and recommendations. Gain exposure to approved Generative AI tools and help evaluate where they may support more efficient information access, knowledge sharing, documentation, and digital ways of working within appropriate Moderna frameworks. Contribute to process mapping, workflow documentation, and continuous improvement projects, including identifying opportunities to simplify manual steps and enable more efficient digital processes. Support the drafting, formatting, and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and related controlled documents using established templates and guidance. Assist with quality control reviews of controlled documents for clarity, consistency, formatting, cross‑references, and alignment with applicable document standards. Help maintain and enhance document trackers, action logs, dashboards, and project status reports to support controlled document development, digital visibility, and implementation. Assist with document lifecycle, training, and digital workflow activities in systems such as Veeva Quality, Smartsheet, and Microsoft 365 tools, as appropriate to assigned access and training. Support the organization and analysis of process documentation, training matrices, and related records to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Work closely with process, training, and cross‑functional partners to support consistent execution and effective adoption of new or improved processes and digital tools across Development. Build practical experience working within a regulated, quality‑focused clinical development environment while contributing to projects that improve how teams access information, manage documentation, and execute work.
