General Motors in Detroit is seeking Electrical Engineer Co-ops for hands-on work in control systems and electrical support for programs, with involvement in operations improvements and new or replacement projects.
You will lead electrical projects across plant areas, program manufacturing technology (PLC, HMI, Robotics), analyze problems, and provide technical guidance while working in a plant environment.
We are seeking Electrical Engineer Co‑ops to do hands‑on work that would potentially add directly to the bottom line of our culture and our company. You will have many responsibilities and accountabilities like control systems engineering and electrical support for programs. You will learn how to lead electrical projects for several different areas of the plant including operations improvements, new and replacement programs. This is a hands‑on position in which you may work with periodic repairs and to provide technical support and direction to support personnel/skilled trades.
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their assigned facility on a full‑time basis. Each successful candidate will be offered an onsite role at a specific location. Candidate location preferences are considered but cannot be guaranteed.

Start dates for this internship role are May 24th and June 14th of 2027.
