Textron Systems in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a 2027 Accounting Co-Op. You will perform assigned accounting functions, record financial transactions, and support audits across areas such as cost accounting, inventory, billings, intercompany accounting, accounts payable, and government reporting.

The ideal candidate is a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting, proficient with Microsoft Office and especially Excel, and capable of working onsite 20 hours per week.

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and work well in a team
• Self-starter with minimal supervision
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned accounting functions and accurately record financial transactions
• Prepare and record company financial transactions and supplemental schedules
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and analytical reviews
• Support financial, tax, internal and government reporting audits
• Interface with management regarding status of transactions and corrective actions
• Provide support to Accounting team
• Onsite role, working 20 hours per week

• This intern will be assigned to one of the following areas in the accounting organization, depending on need at the time: cost accounting, inventory, billings, intercompany accounting, accounts payable, government reporting, timekeeping/payroll, and fixed assets
• PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform assigned accounting functions by utilizing technical accounting theory and practices in order to accurately record company financial transactions. Ensure compliance with company policies and all regulatory requirements
• The Accounting Intern will be involved with Projects focused on various accounting functions including:
• Prepare and record company financial transactions, preparing supplemental schedules as required.
• Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations applying appropriate analytical techniques.
• Support financial, tax, internal and government reporting audits.
• Interface with management and company personnel, as required, regarding the status of accounting transactions and corrective actions required.
• Provide support to Accounting team
• Will work onsite 20 hours per week

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance , Accounting or closely related field
• Ability to analyze and interpret program financial data. PC Proficiency required in Microsoft office with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and work well in a team environment
• Ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance

The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $23 - $26 per hour.
