Job summary

Federated Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a full-time Claims Intern for their Edina, MN office. This 10-week paid internship offers students the chance to develop crucial professional skills, including customer service and teamwork, while supporting Claims personnel across various departments. Interns will enjoy hands-on experiences, participate in office events, and present their learnings to leadership at the end of the program. Pay is $25.00 per hour, and students must be currently pursuing a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• Current Junior academic standing in pursuit of a Business or Criminal Justice Bachelor degree.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Strong computer knowledge.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Support Claims personnel in Auto, Liability, Property and Workers' Compensation offices.
• Facilitate client interactions regarding claims processing.
• Collaborate with supervisor and teammates on assigned work.
• Help Federated clients alongside other interns.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings.
• Complete internship experience presentation to leadership.

Throughout our internship program you will have an opportunity to learn claims processes and procedures, develop various skills related to teamwork, customer service, communication, multi-tasking, and decision-making, as well as participate in team meetings, office events, and community volunteering! Federated Insurance is seeking a full-time claims intern in our Edina, MN office. This paid internship will last about 10 weeks in the summer of 2027 with the first 2 weeks of training at our Home Office in Owatonna, MN.

Responsibilities

• Support Claims personnel in our Auto, Liability, Property and Workers' Compensation offices (as applicable) with telephone coverage and incoming and outgoing correspondence, as directed.
• Facilitate client interactions regarding the processing of a claim, as directed.
• Collaborate with and inform supervisor and teammates of progress and issues related to assigned work.
• Help Federated clients by working side-by-side with other interns and recent college graduates.
• Participate in office and team meetings and trainings.
• Complete presentation outlining the internship experience to P&C Claims leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Pay for this internship is $25.00 per hour.
