Altman, Rogers & Co. invites motivated accounting students to join our Anchorage office as an Audit Intern. You will gain hands-on experience in audit engagements while enjoying a supportive, balanced culture in Alaska's largest locally-owned CPA firm.

Responsibilities include assisting on accounting and audit segments, taking on portions with supervision, and completing a capstone project presented to firm staff. You will stay current with firm policies and GAAP/GASB rules.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled collegiate accounting student actively pursuing degree.
  • Minimum three years of accounting coursework completed, including upper-level credits.
  • Intermediate accounting must be completed.
  • Applicants must be at least eighteen years old.
  • Work experience in public or private accounting is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work on assigned segments of accounting or audit engagements.
  • Assume substantial responsibility for small engagements under supervision.
  • Complete a comprehensive project during the internship with results presented to firm personnel.
  • Stay up to date on firm policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics (AICPA/state CPA rules).

Role and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

  • Complete work on assigned segments of accounting or audit engagements
  • In some instances, assuming substantial responsibility (under supervision) for small engagements and
  • Complete a comprehensive project during the course of the internship, the results of which will be presented to firm personnel
  • Stay up to date on firm policies, procedures, and the AICPA and state CPA society's rules, regulations and Code of Ethics.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Enrolled collegiate accounting student or similar field
  • Minimum three (3) years of coursework completed, including upper-level accounting credits
  • Intermediate accounting must be completed
  • Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years old
  • Applicants may have work experience in public or private accounting, but work experience in accounting, auditing is not required
Required Skills
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
  • Thorough technical knowledge of GAAP, GASB
Supervisory Relationship
  • Works under Manager Supervision
Work Environment

Hours: 40 hours per week located in the office
