Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer/Systems Engineer in Melbourne, FL to support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost and risk analyses for total systems.

The candidate must be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s (and for T02 a Master’s is needed) by August 2027, be in a STEM field, and be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. The job offers relocation assistance and a potential 10% travel requirement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027.
  • Master’s degree by August 2027 or Bachelor’s + 2 years of software experience.
  • Majoring in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or similar STEM field.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special Access.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Convert customer or product requirements into total system solutions that account for technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The selected candidate willperform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform analyses at all levels of total system product toinclude:concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation,maintenanceand disposal.

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications forAssociate Systems Engineer (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meetALL ofthebelow criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed theirBachelor’sdegree from an accredited institutionby August 2027.

  • Be majoring in or having majored inAerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics,or similar STEM degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

  • Previousinternship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Pay Range:

  • Associate Software Engineer (T01): $65,800 - $98,800

  • Software Engineer (T02): $79,300 - $118,900

Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
