Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Systems (T01) or Engineer Systems (T02) to join the Product Support organization in California. You will perform engineering analyses across the lifecycle, analyze performance data, and drive reliability improvements through data-driven recommendations.

The role requires STEM degrees by Aug 2027, U.S. citizenship for clearance, and may involve relocation assistance and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or similar STEM by Aug 2027.
  • Master’s degree by Aug 2027 or Bachelor’s plus 2 years of systems engineering experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

  • Develop and implement support solutions to enhance system reliability and lifecycle performance.

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Systems / Engineer Systems. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in one of the following locations: Palmdale, CA / Redondo Beach, CA / El Segundo, CA / San Diego, CA / Oklahoma City, OK

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Product Support organization.

The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Other duties include:

  • Perform system engineering analyses across the full lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
  • Analyze performance data to identify failure modes, validate data integrity, and generate clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations to resolve issues and drive reliability improvements.
  • Develop and implement support solutions that enhance system reliability, maintainability, and overall lifecycle performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product support teams on Reliability & Maintainability, Supportability, Modeling & Simulation, and Support Equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, review technical data, and support testing to ensure solutions meet technical and regulatory requirements.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Systems (T01) or Engineer Systems (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Systems (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar STEM degree.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Pay Range

  • Associate Engineer Systems (T01) : $62,300.00-$93,500.00
  • Engineer Systems (T02): $75,100.00-$137,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
