Northrop Grumman in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking entry-level Digital Signal Processing Engineers to design and verify signal processing systems. The role focuses on developing algorithms for image and signal processing, with a strong emphasis on MATLAB and C, and requires eligibility for a U.S.

government security clearance. Ideal candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM field, with coursework in DSP, digital communications, and programmable logic.

Northrop Grumman is seeking Digital Signal Processing Engineers. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector inCincinnati, OH.

Researches, designs, develops and verifies signal and image collection systems, and defines and develops processing and dissemination computer algorithms. Develops requirements analysis, system architecture, and integrates new signal and image processing technology systems. Designs, develops and analyzes systems for the extraction of information from signal and image sensors. Systems utilization includes detection and estimation theories, speech processing, and neural networks; electromagnetic and acoustic effects on signals; and/or implementation of signal processing with advanced computer architectures.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2. Basic qualifications for an Associate Digital Signal Processing Engineer 1 are a Bachelor’s Degree. Basic qualifications for a Digital Signal Processing Engineer Engineer 2 are a Master’s Degree.

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar STEM degree be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in in Electrical or Computer Engineering with coursework or equivalent work experience in: Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communications Systems, Digital Circuit Design, Programmable Logic, Software Development Experience with Matlab
  • Proficient with MATLAB, C, or Octave
  • Knowledge of signal processing techniques and technologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of3.00/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active government clearance
  • Proficient in C/C++, embedded SW design in Linux
  • Experience with wireless digital communication systems, in particular modern digital modulation techniques and modem design
  • Experience with RADAR and EW signal processing algorithms
  • Experience with RF receiver development, including system link budget and sensitivity analysis, ADC and receiver noise analysis, and baseband conversion and processing
  • Digital design experience and FPGA development experience in VHDL, is a plus
  • Experience with X-Midas, GNU Radio or software-defined radios
  • Coursework or equivalent work experience in: Embedded System Design, RF System Design, RADAR or Electronic Warfare (EW)

Salary Range 1: $76,200 - $114,400

Salary Range 2: $91,800 - $137,600

Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
