Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking Music Teachers for the 2027-2028 school year at private and independent K-12 schools in Boston, MA and nationwide. Teachers will lead music courses across grade levels and nurture vocal, instrumental, and ensemble participation.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in music (master’s preferred), 2–3 years of K-12 teaching experience, strong performance skills, and the ability to differentiate instruction.

Music Teacher Responsibilities

• Teach several music courses for lower, middle, or upper school students.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance, and responsible use of musical instruments, equipment, and technology.
• Build strong relationships through clear and consistent communication with families, students, and colleagues, including timely updates on student progress and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices and remain current with trends in the field.
• Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
• Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
• Building relationships and mentoring students.

Music Teacher Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in music or related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Experience with different types of music, including choral, instrumental, strings, or band.

Additional Desired Qualities

• Experience with Orff, Kodaly, and/or Dalcroze.
