Stacy McLaughlin Communications is seeking a curious, thoughtful, and detail-oriented Public Relations Intern to join our team for Fall 2026 and support media outreach, research, social content, and events across our design and luxury lifestyle clients.
Stacy McLaughlin Communications is a female-owned boutique public relations firm specializing in design, interiors, and luxury lifestyle. For more than two decades, we have built brands and reputations through thoughtful storytelling, strategic media relations, and enduring relationships with clients, journalists, and the creative community.
We believe great communications begins with understanding what makes a story worth telling. We approach every project with curiosity, care, and discernment-asking the right questions, finding the most compelling idea, and communicating it clearly and thoughtfully.
We're looking for an intern who is excited to learn that process alongside us.
This is a paid, hybrid internship (remote + in-person in NYC) for someone who is smart, self-aware, creatively curious, and genuinely interested in design, art, culture, and media. You'll work closely with senior members of our small team, contribute meaningfully to active client campaigns, and learn not only what we do, but how and why we do it.
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, or AI-powered tools is a plus. We're interested in people who are curious about new tools while understanding that technology is most valuable when paired with good judgment, creativity, and care.
This is not an internship spent watching from the sidelines. You'll work alongside an experienced team on real assignments for exceptional clients and gain firsthand experience in media relations, research, storytelling, social media, events, and brand communications.
Just as importantly, we want you to learn how to think about communications: how to find the story, understand an audience, develop relationships, exercise judgment, and recognize the difference between simply generating attention and identifying something genuinely worthy of it.
We believe in mentorship, curiosity, high standards, and treating every assignment with care. If you're eager to learn, willing to ask questions, and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a small team where your ideas will be heard, we'd love to meet you.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Location: Hybrid - remote and in-person in New York City
