Job summary

Scotiabank in Houston, TX is launching the 2026 Corporate Banking Pathway Program – Energy. This two-year analyst program provides rigorous technical training, cross‑department assignments, and ongoing feedback to prepare graduates for long‑term corporate banking careers.

Analysts will gain exposure to structuring and execution, origination tasks, and a path to further opportunities within Corporate Banking.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree to be completed between December 2025 and August 2026.
• Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting.
• Team player with good collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytics functions – financial statement analysis and risk assessment with high attention to detail.
• Demonstrate identification and analysis of risks of existing or proposed clients and/or transactions.
• Analyze, prepare, and process annual reviews or credit requests.
• Develop industry expertise for assigned industries and product knowledge.
• Complete other tasks such as research or projects as assigned.
• Promote cooperation with stakeholders and strong professional relationships within teams.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Is this role right for you?

The Corporate Banking Analyst Program aims to attract and develop recent college graduates into highly skilled and knowledgeable banking professionals. Over 24 months, analysts will undergo rigorous technical training, participate in various assignments across key departments, and receive continuous performance feedback to ensure their development aligns with the bank’s high standards. This program is structured to provide exposure to different facets of corporate banking, ultimately preparing analysts for long‑term careers within our organization.

Program elements include enhanced workshops, program events, networking opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to senior leadership. Upon completion of the Structuring and Execution and origination assignments, the with the support of their Program Manager, you will be required to apply to and secure a position within Corporate Banking. The final program length shall not exceed 24 months.

What will my responsibilities look like?

• Perform analytics functions – financial statement analysis and risk assessment, with extremely high degree of attention to details and accuracy, in accordance with guidelines, policies and established procedures
• Demonstrate straightforward and succinct identification and analysis of key risks of existing or proposed clients and/or transactions
• Analyze, prepare, and process annual review or credit requests in accordance with Bank policies and guidelines
• Develop industry expertise for assigned industries
• Develop product knowledge and expertise
• Complete other tasks as assigned, i.e., research, assisting industries in special projects, etc.
• Demonstrate professional approach in interactions with key stakeholders. Promote cooperation and strong professional working relationships within the team, and withthe Corporate Banking sector teams, GCM Banking, GBM Product Groups, and Global Risk Management.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining high quality work

• You have an undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Economicsor Mathematics discipline or related fields to be completed between December 2025 and August 2026
• You have a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
• You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• You work seamlessly within MS Office Suite with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
• You have a solid understanding of financial statements and accounting
• You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills
