Job summary

Island Dairy seeks an experienced CDL Class A Route Driver to deliver dairy products to our customers, unload at each stop, verify delivery counts and inventory, and complete delivery paperwork while ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Drivers enjoy a five-day schedule with additional days as needed, no overnight stays, and weekend and holiday work may be required by route.

Qualifications

• Current Commercial Class A or Class B (airbrakes) license required.
• Minimum of one year of delivery driver experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience operating tractors in various weather/traffic conditions.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Weekend and holiday availability.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Complete and submit driver logs and inspection records.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Verify delivery accuracy and product condition.
• Load and unload cases and secure loads.
• Deliver dairy products to customer locations and collect empties.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to customers.
• Document with handheld device or paper as required.
• Collect payments and record receipts.
• Submit daily paperwork: invoices, load orders, handheld reports.
• Resolve discrepancies and report issues to management.

CDL CLASS A DRIVER

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Route Driver that has a Class A Commercial License.

Position Summary

• Our drivers have no overnight stays! Most route schedules are five (5) days per week, with additional days as required, to meet customer needs. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holiday based on the assigned route.
• Our drivers are responsible for delivery and unloading dairy products to retain customers, ensuring accurate delivery count and inventory, and completing delivery paperwork. Drivers will perform the following duties and ensure compliance to all applicable DOT regulations:

Compensation

Starting Rate: $200/day

Duties

• Perform pre and post trip MVI (motor vehicle inspections) in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
• Complete and submit driver logs and inspection record
• Follow and comply with all DOT regulations and safety standards
• Verify delivery accuracy and assure saleable condition of products
• Load and unload cases of product manually with various tools and ensure load is properly secured
• Deliver a wide variety of cold dairy products to multiple customer locations and collect empty cases
• Works with customers in a courteous and professional manner; maintaining a clean and neat appearance
• Handle documentation in computerized handheld device and/or paper as required
• Collection of money from customers and record transactions on receipts
• Submit daily customer paperwork including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports
• Resolve discrepancies and report issues to management

Essential Qualifications

• Current Commercial Class A or Class B (with airbrakes) Driver's license required!
• Minimum of one year of experienced delivery driver
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean/solid driving record required
• Experienced in operating tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
• Organizational and time management skills
• Must be available to work weekends and holiday
