Purpose Statement: To support the instructional program by supervising, caring for and instructing special needs students in various classroom settings, implementing individualized plans, monitoring behavior, and providing information to school personnel.
This position reports to the Teacher and/or Site Administrator.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Responsibility: Work under direct supervision using standardized procedures, guide others, and use resources from other units as required.
Work Environment: Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. 10% sitting, 60% walking, 30% standing.
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
