This posting is for the 2026-27 school year.

Experience in food service preferred; training will be available.

Salary: $16.50 per hour. Remains active until April 30, 2027, or until all positions are filled.

Scope: Under general supervision, assists in operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning, preparation, record keeping and all kitchen operations; adhering to guidelines and public health regulations.

Reports to: Head Cook/Nutrition Director.

Requirements: Graduate from high school or equivalent. Knowledge of production or commercial food preparation, cleaning techniques and/or childhood nutrition preferred.

Performance Responsibilities

Prepare nutritious meals according to state and federal guidelines.
Prepare substitute items for children on restricted diets.
Ability to bake breads, rolls, desserts and use commercial equipment.
Maintain highest standards of safety and sanitation including safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage.
Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen, including freezers, coolers, pantries, floors and storage areas; washing all items used for food preparation.
Dishwashing duties as assigned.
Accurate record‑keeping of production sheets and food temperatures.
Ability to run cash stand and scan cards.
Basic clerical skills and computer skills.
Ability to handle emergency situations.
Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds; maximum lifting of 50 pounds.
Physical capabilities of bending, standing and walking for prolonged periods and/or much of the work day.
Entails the consistent use of hand and feet controls with operation of food service equipment.
Capable of working in warm temperature surroundings.
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff, students, vendors, and other food agencies.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
