Job summary

Girls Global Academy is seeking an Attendance Coordinator to monitor and improve student attendance and ensure compliance with state and local attendance laws.

The role works with students, families, teachers, and administration to address barriers to attendance and promote a culture of consistent school attendance. You will manage records, communicate with families, and support intervention plans for chronically absent students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • 2+ years in a school setting or administrative role preferred.

  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records using the school’s SIS.
  • Monitor attendance trends and identify patterns of absenteeism and tardiness.
  • Communicate with families regarding absences, tardies, and attendance concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with state attendance laws, including truancy reporting and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit required attendance reports to school leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop intervention plans for chronically absent students.
  • Coordinate attendance-related meetings, including parent conferences and truancy hearings.
  • Provide guidance to staff on attendance procedures and policies.
  • Support student enrollment, withdrawal, and record transfers as they relate to attendance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
  • Promote positive attendance initiatives and incentives within the school community.

Attendance Coordinator

The Attendance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and improving student attendance to support academic success and compliance with state and local attendance laws. This role works closely with students, families, teachers, and administration to address attendance barriers and promote a culture of consistent school attendance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records using the school’s student information system
  • Monitor student attendance trends and identify patterns of absenteeism and tardiness
  • Communicate with families regarding absences, tardies, and attendance concerns
  • Ensure compliance with state attendance laws, including truancy reporting and documentation
  • Prepare and submit required attendance reports to school leadership and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop intervention plans for chronically absent students
  • Coordinate attendance-related meetings, including parent conferences and truancy hearings
  • Provide guidance to staff on attendance procedures and policies
