POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing classroom instruction and maintaining classroom management in the absence of the teacher of record. Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment; knowledge of child development; ability to work effectively with administrators, central office staff, school-based staff, students, parents, and the community; excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills; strong computer skills; knowledge of office and media equipment; and ability to give and follow oral and written instructions in the English language. This position reports to the Principal.
Substitutes employed with Clayton County Public Schools work on an as‑needed basis with no guarantee of hours and are not eligible for benefits. Substitutes are reasonably assured to have the opportunity to work, provided schools are in operations. This will not apply in the event of any disruption that is beyond the control of the district (i.e., school closures, inclement weather).
