Substitute Teachers Aide

Job Overview

The Substitute Teachers Aide provides assistance and support to classroom teachers in facilitating learning activities, managing student behavior, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position involves working under the direction of the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans, provide individualized support to students, and maintain classroom organization and safety. The Substitute Teachers Aide may be required to fill in for regular aides on short notice or as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist classroom teachers in preparing and implementing lesson plans, activities, and instructional materials to meet educational objectives.
  • Student Assistance: Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring, small group instruction, and one-on-one assistance with assignments and projects.
  • Behavior Management: Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by enforcing rules, managing behavior, and addressing disciplinary issues according to school policies.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students during instructional time, transitions, recess, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Assessment Support: Assist with administering assessments, quizzes, and exams, as well as scoring and recording student performance data as directed by the teacher.
  • Resource Management: Organize and maintain instructional materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are accessible and in good working condition.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent: Basic educational requirement.
